  • Preliminary Examination (Prelims): This is the first stage of the UPPSC exam. It consists of two papers: General Studies Paper I (200 marks) and General Studies Paper II (CSAT) (qualifying in nature). The preliminary exam is objective in format and serves to shortlist candidates for the mains examination.
  • Main Examination (Mains): Candidates who pass the Prelims will proceed to the Mains stage.
