RAS Cut Off

Rajasthan Public Service Commission conducts RAS Exam and announces RAS Cut Off for selection of Group A and Group B services under The State of Rajasthan. RAS Exam is highly sought after among competitive exam aspirants. RPSC RAS cut off for 2024 highlights the increasing difficulty of exam. Below we have discussed RAS Cut off for Last 5 years for prelims and mains in detail.

RAS Cut Off Prelims – Explained

The RAS Preliminary exam is a screening test with one objective paper that selects candidates for the Mains. Unlike UPSC, the RPSC RAS Prelims has only one paper, which covers General Knowledge and Science. This paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions worth a total of 200 marks. Every question contributes to the cut-off, as there are no qualifying papers. Only candidates who score at or above the Prelims cut-off can move on to the Mains.

RPSC then creates a PDF called “RAS Cut Off Marks” that lists cut-offs by category. These cut-offs depend on the exam’s difficulty and the level of competition. Factors like the total number of seats, the total number of examinees, and the toughness of that year’s Prelims paper are significant. Aspirants often review previous year cut-offs to estimate the score needed to qualify, even though each year’s cut-off can vary greatly.

RAS Prelims Cut-Off: Last 5 Years (Category-wise)

The Prelims cut-off has varied significantly in recent years. The table below shows the General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PWD (where available) cut-offs for selected years. If RPSC did not declare a category (e.g. EWS before 2019), we mark it N/A.

RAS Cutoff Prelims: Last 5 Years – Analysis

Exam difficulty and trends are clearly reflected in the above cut-offs. The General category prelim cut-off was around 78–85 between 2016 – 2021 and soared well above 100 in 2023, then declined to 71.59 in 2024. This suggests the 2023 paper was moderate (raising cut-offs) and 2024’s was tough (lowering cut-offs). Such swings are common in competitive exams. The number of vacancies also matters: when seats increase, cut-offs tend to fall. RPSC adjusts each year’s qualifying marks based on overall performance.

RAS Cut Off Mains Explained

The Mains exam has multiple descriptive papers. RPSC similarly sets category-wise cut-offs after evaluation. Below are the General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS cut-offs (out of total Mains marks) for recent Main exams:

RAS Cut Off Mains – Last 5 Years Analysis

RAS Mains Cut off follows the same trends as RAS Prelims Cut ff. There was a sharp decline in 2024 due paper being on difficult side and increased vacancies.. For example, the General (UR) cut-off fell by ~82 points from 344 (2018) to 262 (2024). All categories saw similar downward shifts. The higher cut-off in 2018 implies that test was relatively easier (or fewer positions) than in 2024. Candidates’ subject-wise strengths also affect these cut-offs – broad weakness in popular subjects can depress average scores. RPSC typically uses the total marks (Mains written plus Interview) to rank candidates, but the published cut-offs reflect only the written exam thresholds. When the exam is harder, the cut-off is set lower to select the requisite number of candidates.

RAS Cut Off Final Result 2025

The final stage of the RAS selection includes the interview (viva voce). RPSC does not publish a separate “final cut-off” after interviews. In effect, the final merit list is based on each candidate’s combined Mains + Interview scores. Thus, the closing score (last selected candidate’s total) is not officially disclosed. In practice, the final recommended list is released (as in Oct 2025), but only roll numbers and services allotted are given. Aspirants should note that performing well in the interview can significantly improve rank, but no cut-off table is issued for this stage.
