Punjab PCS Exam Eligibility 2025

Punjab PCS Exam; Punjab PCS exam eligibility is the bare minimum criterion that a candidate must have to appear in the PPSC. Detailed Punjab PCS exam eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Final-year students can apply for Prelims but must pass the degree before Mains. Must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi language (or equivalent) by the day before Prelims.
  • Nationality
  • An Indian citizen, or a person with a Punjab eligibility certificate issued by the Punjab Home Affairs and Justice Department.
  • Age Limit: 
  • As per the Punjab State Civil Services Rules, candidates must be at least 21 years old but not older than 37 years (General Category) as of January 1, 2025, the year in which the application submission deadline falls.  However, there is category-wise age relaxation for ST/SC/OBC of 42 years
  • Residency
  • Domicile of Punjab is preferred, but not mandatory for all categories.

Punjab PCS 2025 notification was released on January 3, 2025. The Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 26, 2025; however, it has been postponed to December 7, 2025. The Mains Examination date is yet to be announced, but is expected to take place in early 2026. 

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Nationality: Should be an Indian citizen, and Residency: Domicile of Punjab preferred, but not mandatory for all categories.

Minimum age limit for Punjab PCS 2025 is 21 years, and the Maximum age limit for Punjab PCS 2025 is 37 years. However, relaxation is provided to SC/ST/OBC of Punjab: Up to 42 years, Government Employees (Punjab/Other States/Central): Up to 45 years.

Up to 6 attempts for the Prelims exam, subject to age limit and eligibility. No limit specified for Mains/Interview, but must qualify for Prelims each time.
