  • About Landslide Risk Mitigation Scheme (LRMS): Approved in 2019 for four States—Sikkim, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Uttarakhand—to provide central assistance for disaster preparedness and capacity building for future landslide mitigation projects.

              oLaunched in July 2019 under Improving Disaster Risk Governance of State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs) / District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs).

  • About National Landslide Risk Mitigation Project: Recently approved with a financial outlay of Rs. 1000 Crore for 15 landslide-prone states for funding from the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF).
  • 15 States Benefitting: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
