AUSTRAHIND-23 (Syllabus: GS Paper 2 – IR)

Context: The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles recently Context: Recently, the Indian Armed Forces contingent, consisting of 81 personnel, departed for Australia to participate in the second edition of the Joint Military Exercise AUSTRAHIND-23.


Exercise AUSTRAHIND-23

  • About: It is A bilateral training exercise between armies of India and Australia.
  • Aim: To foster collaborative partnerships and share best practices between the two sides.

oThe joint exercise will promote the exchange of ideas and jointly rehearse tactics, techniques, and procedures for conducting tactical operations.

oThe exercise will also help in promoting understanding between the two militaries and further strengthen the defense cooperation between the two friendly nations.

  • Contingent Composition: The Indian Army contingent is represented by 60 personnel from a Battalion of the GORKHA Rifles.
  • Australian Army contingent, consisting of 60 personnel, hails from the 13th Brigade
  • AUSTRAHIND 2022 Edition: Mahajan, Rajasthan
  • AUSTRAHIND 2023 Edition: Perth, Australia
