- Singapore Convention (United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation):
- It has recognized and committed to enforcement of settlement agreements arising out of mediation.
- India is signatory to this convention. For a country having a backlog of over 4.5 crore cases, mediation needs to be promoted as an alternate means of dispute resolution.
- For this, the Mediation Bill, 2021 was recently passed by the Parliament of India.
