He is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and holds a PhD in Business Administration and an MS in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota, USA<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He served as the Defence Secretary of India from August 23, 2019, to October 31, 2022, making him one of the longest-serving officers in this position.
