He was born on 8 May 1828 in Geneva, Switzerland. He was the first person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in helping wounded soldiers in war. At that time, many people were hurt, and peace was needed. In 1934, during the 15th International Conference in Tokyo, the Red Cross Truce report was presented. This report told how the Red Cross should work to protect injured people during wars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later, in 1946, during the Second World War, the Red Cross started working more actively using these rules.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1948, the Board of Governors of the League of the Red Cross Societies decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant. It also means respecting every person and promoting friendship and understanding among all people.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Impartiality: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Red Cross helps everyone equally. There is no difference based on country, religion, race, or political ideas. Help is given only based on who needs it most.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Neutrality: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Red Cross does not take sides in any conflict or political matter. This helps them provide help to all people without bias.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Independence: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Red Cross works independently. Even though it works with governments, it makes its own decisions and follows its own rules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voluntary Service: The work done by Red Cross volunteers is not for money or any reward.
